Humbled by Volcanic Power and Beauty
This photo was taken during the 'Tongariro Alpine Crossing', a strenuous daylong Hike on New Zealand's North Island. I am looking back into the volcanic crater after climbing down the steep hill on the right and am inspired and humbled by the force of nature. The mountain behind the crater, Mt. Ngauruhoe, was used as the fictional mount Doom in the Lord of the rings films.
