Prayer flags in the Yangpachen valley, 90 km northwest of Lhasa, Tibet. Several peaks of the Nyainqentanglha Mountains stand in the background. The highest of these peaks reaches over 7,000 meters elevation, while the valley itself sits at over 4,000 meters above sea level. I took this picture while conducting geologic field research for my phd studies in 1999.
