Basquiat Lives
Whenever I'm in NYC I try to make a stop here at 57 Great Jones Street. This carriage house was owned by Andy Warhol and was the home and studio of artist Jean-Michel Basquiat for five years, from 1983 until his death by heroin overdose at the age of 27 in 1988. Thirty years later he is still an inspiration and this place has become a kind of shrine to his memory as people keep adding to the layers of street art...
