With this Turkey Vulture being backlit by the early morning sun, it made it very difficult to photograph. But, in black and white, the environment became very ethereal and the Turkey Vulture was pulled forward by the very nature of its colors. In some ways, the black and white rendering lends credence to the perceived idea that vultures are reminiscent of creepy, scary birds from a horror movie or a bad dream.
