As I was photographing this little spider this morning, I saw a gnat fly right into its web. The spider immediately crawled over to it and began spinning it in silk. This is something I had never watched with my own eyes before. As sad as it was for the poor gnat, it was an amazing thing to watch. It gave me a deeper appreciation of the creatures that many think to be creepy and scary and showed their important part in the web of life.
