Edit Photo Details Great Horned Owlets   #greathornedowlblackandwhiteruhanch
These two young Great Horned Owlets were also great subjects for Black and White. When the owls are young, their texture is soft and fluffy before their feathers develop. In this photograph the light was coming from the top and was focused on the head and front of the owlet in the back. This along with the dark background provided a nice layer effect in the nest. The photograph was taken at Rush Ranch in Northern California. Rush Ranch is part of the SF Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve.
