On a typical hot and humid Virginia afternoon, a young girl ventures down a path at Bull Run Regional Park. An enthralling sense of curiosity drives her own. With a hiking stick she found along the forest floor, she leads her family down the trail, its every curve is new to her. She observes her surroundings for the first time, taking in every inch of greenery and wildlife. She follows in the steps of soldiers and tourist, viewing this vast historic land as her own.
