The evening before my wedding, my friend and I scouted a forest road up a ridge overlooking The Wallowas Mountain Range. The land owner had granted permission for my wife and I to sign our Ketubah (marriage contract) up top, assuming the road was passable. A local joked my way as we came down, "You huntin' wolves?", an obviously illegal activity. The timing was right as my friend and I drove the roundabout route back to town, golden light hitting private horse pastures. This soul stands loyal.
