After have been waiting for these chicks’s(Mergus merganser) leaving their nest for almost one week, they suddenly showed their faces in the early morning. I was very lucky to see them jumped down form the the tree and were leaded by their mother to entered a pond. There are so many things have to be mastered in a short time. After they are used to swimming , they will leave for the river nearby. I hope they all can escape from the predators.(Hokkaido Japan)

From Your Shot photographer Rose Ungvari: "My what an astonishing journey these little chicks have had so far in their young lives, jumping all the way down from the heights of a tree and then making another leap of faith from one rock to another across the water to the pond! Nature amazes me, as do you Shan with your patience, dedication and attention to detail which makes this such an exceptionally stunning shot! I love the energy and spirit you have captured of these adorable little babies!!"
