A monochrome of a gorgeous black panther lounging on a thick bough in Nagarhole National Park. An eye-level image was possible because the landscape sloped away, down to the gorge and though the tree was tall, it was rooted down the slope, bringing this magnificent creature eye-level with me. I made this image when he looked up, staring directly at me, seeming to peer into my soul.
