    Edit Photo Details One sister!   #birds #trees #nature #animals #landscapes #babblers #sri_lanka_endemic
ThisYellow billed Babbler, turdoides affinis taprobanus, got separated from her family and has been nearby our Ella bungalow on and off all day. These endemic Sri Lankan birds are known as the “7 sisters” because, rarely alone, they often move around in groups of 7.This youngster woke me very early this morning, sitting on our open bedroom window pecking insects off the glass. Later, after I took this shot, she actually came into our living room, but I didn’t risk reaching for the camera again!
