    To me, the race is more endurance. To see the effort, exhaustion and cost of continuing tells a different story than simply holding a place marker. In the struggle to hold on, the entrant becomes something new. Humbler and more appreciative, but aware of things they did not see before. The harder the course, the greater the sight.
