Painted Dunes

This is a birds-eye view of the Painted Dunes from the top of the Cinder Cone at park. While this looks like a painting, the dunes are in fact pumice fields that formed from volcanic ash falling on a bed of hot lava flows and oxidizing in this colorful manner.
