As a science educator, my favorite subject to teach students is astronomy. Most middle school students never have had a real introduction to anything outside our atmosphere so I have the privilege of showing them different celestial bodies. I love watching their eyes widen as they realize that our sun is just one (somewhat small) star among billions in our Milky Way Galaxy but that there are billions of galaxies. They leave with a passion for exploration- "to infinity and beyond"
