    Reported by:

On New Years day 2017 my girlfriend and I awoke to thick cloud cover and fog with almost zero visibility. We debated going home, but only after one more drive through the park. As we drove through the clouds and patches of snow, we emerged through patches of light and we were soon above the clouds. We stopped at various viewpoints along the way to take photos, but this particular butte stuck out perfectly as it was illuminated by sunrise light and framed by wintery blanket of clouds.

Wow. What a magical way to begin 2017 Peter. This scene is breathtaking. I love how the cloud is rolling through this landscape. So beautiful. Thanks for sharing the story behind this moment because it makes me love this photo even more. Well done.
