    Maybe little unknown for foreigners, but Šranecké piesky in the western part of Slovakia called Záhorie are a location of a great importance. For example it shows us how this part of country would look like if Habsburg monarch Maria Teresa did not order to plant pine trees. Dunes are pretty old and their origin dates back to the era of pleistocene, when they were blown here from the Morava river.
