This American Navy DC plane crashed in the Sólheimasandur region of southern Iceland in 1973. Amazingly everybody onboard survived and it turns out the pilot had accidentally switched fuel tanks by mistake. Getting a photo of this wonder without also capturing several tourists isn't easy! The DC plane has also been used as a prop in several videos - I think even Justin Bieber has ridden a skateboard down it! It is quite a walk from the nearest parking place but certainly worth a look!
