Goddess of the Wind
I took this shot of my daughter, Zoë, dancing in the dark waters of the Athens Riviera at night, unaware that I was behind her on the beach. Zoë means "life" in Greek. Zoë is also the Greek Goddess of the Wind, or perpetual motion. I didn't realize when I named her that she would come to embody that in her life -- always ready to travel the world in search of new adventures. This is not just a portrait of the girl, it's a portrait of her spirit, as best as it can be captured in a photograph.
