A few hours after the last chick was born (see previous photo), mom and dad abandoned their nest. Then, mom and her three chicks set sail on their next adventure. Dad was busy collecting minnows and leeches to feed the young chicks. The chicks will spend the next few weeks on their parents backs while they gain strength and size.
