frog prince's serenade
My husband spent summers at Deer Lake Washington. Every evening the bullfrogs would emerge and start their nightly serenade. He and his cousins loved to wander around the edge of the water and catch the fat fellows as they bellowed their lovely tune. Years later our children have become the hunters. A hop and a splash and the quarry is theirs. They marvel at the lumpy skin and shimmering eyes. A few minutes of marvel and then the frog prince is returned to his home, safe to continue his serenade
