Courtship Poetry in Display
I came upon this couple of Grey Crowned Crane and spent several hours. It was late afternoon in Ngorongoro Crater, Tanzania, in June 2017. The thrill of getting into the crater was so overpowering, sharing the keen air and azure blue sky. It was like a poetry in motion, involving dancing, bowing and jumping in courtship. Once in a while they also made a honking sound. Because of their exceptional beauty, they are being caged, but cranes cannot breed in captivity.
