Honestly, I was one of those people who only liked the snowy owl due to its reputation in Harry Potter. Even though this picture was taken at a local zoo I took a trip to a local area where a snowy owl was spotted for a college course. Despite the freezing temperatures we stayed there for several hours until a bird catcher caught the snowy owl and we got to see the owl up close before he banded it. I thought the owl was huge, but I later found out from my professor he was too small to band.
