Food for its Puffling
An Atlantic puffin returns home with its mouth full of sand eels. It is determined to make it back to its burrow to feed its newborn chick, a puffling. It faces many obstacles as it must dive directly into its burrow or else face a variety of aggressive gulls who will attack it to get the food. Its determination to feed its young as well as its heartwarming, cartoonish appearance help it earn the love of many who have seen or observed this bird species. Farne Islands, England.
