When I look into the eyes of my dog (Buddy), I see a reflection of love, affection, and a willingness to please. It makes me want to be a better person, one who is more humble, kind, and loving. In this photograph I had just been informed that Buddy had cancer and his prognosis was grim. The news was devastating and I was heartbroken. As I sit here and type this caption, tears are streaming down my face. The love I have for my pet is genuine, as he was a part of my life for fifteen years.
