For the 'I Want to Go There' assignment I decided to explore a new place that I've wanted visit for a while now: California's Alabama Hills. For years I vacationed along the 395 corridor and never knew it existed. Now I can't get enough. Giant boulders, stunning rock formations, and quirky arches envelop you in a red rock warmth while backroads seemingly transport you to another world. As I hiked around in amazement it felt like I had stepped through a portal to Mars. A truly unique location.
