    Edit Photo Details Anna's   #hummingbird
This little female Anna's hummingbird has taken over our back yard. She fiercely defends her territory from other hummingbirds (even males), butterflies, the dog, etc. She's not shy at all so it is fun to photograph her...I've taken hundreds of hummingbird pictures over the years and this one may be my favorite. As one friend said, "it's hard to find a picture of an Anna's that gets your attention."

Fantastic job capturing this tight frame of the hummingbird, I love seeing it so close. I love the inclusion of the wings, it helps create the sensation that this hummingbird is flying and not resting while feeding. And with a 550mm lens, you were definitely focused into this scene. Well done Douglas.
