The pass of Croce Arcana (Arcane cross), is located at 1,669 meters and in the XV century maps it is called Arcem Crux, for the reason that, since the hospitale of Ospitale (XI-XIII century) began functioning, there has always been a cross to guide travelers in case of bad weather, above all fog. It is a wonderful place, from where, on the clearest days, you can see the Tyrrhenian sea and the islands of the Tuscan archipelago.
