720 steps to the top!
Visiting Paris and climbing the Eiffel Tower one day is probably what most people dream of. Two years ago this dream came true for me and I actually stood under this unique monument. It was much taller than I imagined - a masterpiece of iron, struts and arches. Huge, unique and beautiful! To explore it exactly and from all perspectives, I did not use the elevator to get to the top but I climbed up the 720 steps by foot. For that I was rewarded with unique views!
I agree with Your Shot photographer Rose Ungvari: "I like the unique perspective of looking downward seeing all the tiny people below scattered about. [Y]ou did such a fabulous job with your framing, using the base arch structure of this iconic tower as a frame at the top leading my sight line to the numerous people in line and walking about. Lovely tones and perfect balance of hard lines and patterns from the massive intricate structure to the delicate patterns of the people."
