Wolf spider
You don't have to go too far away from your house to discover that there are a lot of wonderful things still unknown to you. It was the same with me and this wolf spider (Lycosa singoriensis) which is commonly known as the Romanian "tarantula". This is the largest spider that you can find in Romania, the female reaching up to a length of cca 3.5 cm and it was my first encounter with it in an area where I would never suspected to find it: in the fields behind my home.
