UTVs on the Alpine Loop
Utility terrain or utility task vehicles (UTVs) cross the Animas River and enter into the small Ghost town of Animas Forks Colorado. Animas Forks was a bustling mining town in the San Juan Mnts with its' heyday around 1878. The town contained 30 cabins, a hotel, a general store, a saloon, and a post office. By 1883, 450 people lived in Animas Forks and in 1882 a newspaper, the Animas Forks Pioneer was created.
