There's a family of great horned owls living around our backyard. Every night, dad owl and a few of his children will sit on a tree branch looking for rodents to eat. On a hot summer night, we came out the backyard again to admire these majestic creatures and we saw the dad owl sitting on the branch of our oak tree. It was the closest he has ever been and I managed to snap a shot while he was on the lookout turning his head 180 degrees back to look at me when he heard me approaching.
