Oasis
During a recent trip to Iceland, the weather wasn't spectacular for photography, but perfect for hiking... Other than the 70mph winds we had to endure while hiking across a 15 mile section of the highlands which was riddled with snow fields to navigate.
This shot was taken at a place that felt like a magical oasis in the middle of a mountainous, volcanic desert butting up against massive glaciers making their way down to canyons and rivers below.
Sometimes cloudy days offer better days for photography, because the light is diffused and softer... I love looking up at the waterfall, it feels so majestic. Great decision to shoot this scene with a slow shutter speed, to capture the water flowing down. This does feel like a magical oasis, what a wonderful reward for your hike.
