Niagara Falls never disappoints - even when throngs of tourists are around. Going in the late winter, at dawn, is a guarantee of solitude as the cold and damp deter all but the most hearty. This photo was captured in the minutes before the sun cracked the horizon. To be standing so close to one of the true wonders of nature is breathtaking and inspiring. Awesome power, in the truest sense of the word.
