Two hands reaching out cemented a moment of strong recognition. At the 4th of July Parade in New Albany, Ohio, a group of children leapt with excitement when they saw stilt walkers marching down the street. One girl waved furiously. Then a woman on stilts, brightly dressed in red white and blue, ambled over. Poised on high she reached down, palms open and ever so carefully, to touch hands with the child. The little girl was beside herself with joy.
