One hundred years...
"She is 100 dog-years old," the farmer said. “You can see her heart in her eyes” he continued. Indeed I did see it, back at the barn, when I felt inwardly compelled to take this portrait. The next week she wandered into the cornfield and never came back. “We still call and hunt for her everyday, She was the best dog we ever had." The farmer loved the photo; he looked at it gratefully and sadly. I am so glad that momentary instinct prompted a portrait that won't ever be possible to take again.
