Brown pelicans are probably the most photographed birds in Aruba. This photo must be my favorite till now, taken last week. After a successful plunge-dive the pelican needed to hurry up in order to avoid being washed by the approaching wave. With a heavy pouch still full of water and not wanting to lose its catch, the pelican tried to lift off with strong wing beats and rushing over the water surface. And yes....it was just in time.....
