The monolithic pillar
This is one of the two monolithic pillars constructed within the courtyard of the grand Kailasa temple of Ellora. The structure stands as a testament of time and has withstood the vandalism by Aurangazeb's army. The stone (ignious) is harder than the average granite and the whole Kailasa temple itself was constructed as a single monolithic structure.
