While most Maasai in Kenya usually only dress for tourists, this is not the case in Tanzania. We came across this manyata a few hundred meters below the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater. The manyata is home to a single family of 127 members, including the chief and his 13 wives, their children and their wives and so on. This lovely lady was one of the chief's wives and, much to our disbelief, she was actually dressed like that while tending to a few goats grazing just outside the manyata wall.
