Tradition
We were fortunate to have been invited into the village chief's house during a visit to the remote Vietnamese village of Buon Chuoi, home to the Kho Chil ethnic minority. Few outsiders have had the opportunity to visit this secluded hill tribe area in the mountains above Dalat. Our hostess, the chief's octogenarian wife, passes most days smoking her traditional pipe while weaving. I made this portrait using only the natural light streaming into the hut through the window.
