Having just finished our hike up to and around the summer palace, there was no better feeling than to sit beside the frozen lake and watch the sun set. A small group of young people were ice skating on the lake (just out of frame to the left), and a group of adults did yoga in an area behind us. It was a humbling experience to be in a place with such rich history that was still thriving and humming with life. This beautiful sunset was the cherry on top of a wonderful day.
