    Reported by:

A few weeks prior to migrating back to South America the Swallow-tailed kites in Florida roost together in large numbers. Each day these birds will leave the roost and soar above it in large numbers (kettles) before they head out to forage for food. Prior to joining the soaring birds, some birds will skim across the water to take a drink and/or bath. With the water still shedding off of it, this Kite had just finished a skimming run.
