View of the rooftops of some of the remaining buildings on Alcatraz Island in San Francisco Bay. I believe that at least one of these buildings had been used to house the families of some of the wardens and workers on the island. It's an interesting thought that an island primarily devoted to use as a federal penitentiary, actually housed families in a self-contained neighborhood. That doesn't particularly sound too inviting though!
