Short Life
In some states deer are pretty safe from predators, North Dakota is not one of them. In fact there are several large predators who would love a nice venison dinner. From the looks of the damage and dog like tracks around; Bambi fell prey to coyotes. I’ve seen it over and over again; the mother deer will run away at the sign of trouble in the hopes that the predator will chase her. However, leaving their babies unattended is a strategy that can, and have back fired and this is the result.
