Applying the D
My grandaughter applies defensive pressure in her 8th grade basketball game. Luckily I was using my 50 mm prime when the action got close to me, this was taken from about 6 feet away, a true close encounter. I bought my first DSLR in 2012 to take photos of my youngest daughter who was a sophomore in high school. So sports was my start in photography and it has continued with my grandkids. :)
I love Your Shot photographer Shannon Hunt's comment: "Rich you captured incredible energy that is bursting out of the frame. The tight composition allows us to see the tension and concentration on the girls' faces. The depth of field is wonderful allowing us to see the referee and other players blurred in the background enough not to distract from the moment but still adds to the energetic feel of the frame."
