My younger sister, mother, and I all took a trip to my grandfathers hometown in Germany to explore our family history. We visited our family grave, where my grandfather, great grandmother, great grandfather, and countless great aunts and uncles are all buried, most casualties of WWII. Pictured is my younger sister getting teary eyed, realizing that my mother was the last of the Von Fluegge's (her maiden name, we both have our father's last name). A bittersweet moment in an extraordinary life.
