We went to the South Pantanal in the Mato Grosso area in Brazil about 3 months ago and while doing the 7 hour journey with our guide in a 4x4 to get to our destination near the boarder of Paraguay - 10 minutes before arriving to our lodge the driver accidentally ran over an anaconda - I was horrified thinking the 4x4 would have flattened it out but thankfully the road was very sandy and after a quick check and a photo we were relieved to see if off in the jungle!
