Edit Photo Details Hutong in Shanghai   #shanghai #hutong
The traditional neighborhoods of Chinese cities, known as "hutong", are in the present a relic. The self-built single-family houses lined in narrow streets, where the neighborhood life created a great identity although poverty was also evident, have been replaced by the new areas of gigantic housing towers. The progress of the "Factory of the World" has its costs. I guess today this Shanghai hutong no longer exists.
