I love shadow and dramatic light in photos and wanted to give this new mother a photo to never forget how precious and small her daughter was. Time is so fleeting and I wanted this moment to never pass for her as I know the future will come all too soon for this family. I used an off camera flash and softbox to diffuse light indoors and overpowered the ambient lighting in the house.
