Walking home from the Petoskey waterfront on a beautiful summer evening, I was mesmerized by the sight of the Crooked Tree Arts Center, a former church, lit against the deep blue of the twilight sky. With the roads wet from a recent shower that rolled through the town and no one else around, it was a serene, perfect sight.
