My workplace, a major employer of over 1000 employees at the Santa Rosa site, was saved by heroic firefighters and a dozen fire engines. The community downhill in the valley was completely leveled, as was an elementary school right at the base of the hill (first buildings at the bottom). While fall was taking place, a lot of the colors on the hill across are from burned trees.
